A brief description of yourself: I'm just an ordinary person who has a lot of imagination. I like to write (mostly fan fiction) and do other stuffs.

What do you like most about RinHaru?: I think it's their relationship that interests me the most. RinHaru is definitely one of those ships that I'll ship as long as I can (which in fact, is my whole life).

Hello Alexis. I've heard a lot of good things about those other anime you have listed there and want to get around to them sometime. I started Utena a long time ago but need to finish it.

And I know what you mean about the RinHaru being a question that would have a very long answer. What drew you into it in the first place?

When you get around to finishing Utena I hope you enjoy it. It can be a wild ride (literally and figuratively) but I love it dearly.

Hm that's also kind of a heavy question but I guess I'd have to say what got me interested in the first place was that scene in s1ep2 where we find out the reason Haru stopped swimming was because of Rin. idk if this is the best way to put this but an overall common theme in most of my ships would be characters who are willing to do a lot for each other (for better or worse) so I was really interested in what would happen there and I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the end result (in both seasons).

Hello PPD. Nice to meet you too. Their relationship always has such dramatic and compelling emotion from the first episode that appealed to me too. And so many parallels between them.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun looks like fun, and Haikyuu!! looks like it has a fun ensemble and intense sports. SnK is a little on the sad side for me, but that's cool too. One of the general chat topics or possible periodical discussion posts should be about Rinharu in crossovers. Y/N?

Haha, I definitely recommend Gekkan and Haikyuu!! They actually surprised me in that they were both really good. I also recommend Barakamon because it's a nice story. SnK is...it's special.

I actually never really thought about them being in crossovers, but yeah, that could be a topic I suppose. Tbh, I just made my account about an hour ago so I'm not really sure how this place works, but once I do, I'll try to talk a bit more in the general forum ^-^

I've actually got exams atm so I should be studying. Lol.

Oh and btw, I'm not sure if you are aware of the fandom on tumblr, but we're holding a Rinharu week. It starts on the 20th of November.

Yes, the way they challenge each other is so great. It's not just a simple need to catch up to the other, but there's a lot of passion involved and they help light the way forward for each other.

What do you like most about RinHaru?: ugh, so many things. i really REALLY love rin's character, and his s1 arc was pretty much perfection. i love the impact the two of them have had on each other's lives. i also love exploring their possible relationships with their families even tho canon gives us so little in that regard (hi i'm that person who wrote that fic about haru's grandma dying). so yeah, good characters on their own, good interaction together, what's not to like.

Other fandoms/interests: the bletchley circle, evangelion but only the female characters pretty much, makai ouji, snk, nabari, also for non-fandom, information sciences, contemporary art and literary criticism i guess if i'm going to phrase it in a way that sounds hideously pretentious

How is grad school?

Oh yes, agreed on all points. And it is a shame that so little attention is given to their families. For one, I was really hoping to see the Matsuoka mom and what she does, her relationship with her kids... but there's always fanworks to help us fill in the gaps. But yes, they both are great, and great together.

Those are also some interesting series! The Bletchley Circle sounded familiar, so I looked it up and remembered someone recommended that to me. How is it? And nah it's not pretentious! It all sounds interesting.

A brief description of yourself: Let's see... musician, INFJ, conflicted person overall. I'm a bit scared of interacting like this (it's only been a year -- I still feel new to the whole idea of fandom), so please take care of me~

What do you like most about RinHaru?: .....everything. From their dynamic to their history to their potential, it gives me too many feels to the point where I'm about to explode. I see a lot of mutual care between them, but they still have a long way to go (and it's beautiful (☆_☆) just like that).

Other fandoms/interests: If I listed this, it would go on forever. Let's just say lots of anime from about 10-15 years ago, Wallflower, Angel Beats!, Hyouka, Haikyuu!, Horimiya and many more (there's a more complete list on tumblr, if anyone's really interested...). I read a lot of September Scanlations' works! Ace Attorney is a huge passion too~ Aside from that, martial arts and anything to do with music.

Something you'd like to share: My schedule is generally pretty crazy, but I'll try to come visit as much as I can! Reading about everyone's thoughts makes me super happy ^_^ Meta is one of the greatest things to ever exist.

I'm also one of "those" who doesn't know how to use Dreamwidth! Though I think I'll be able to catch on soon enough.

Hmm, Hyouka is another KyoAni show isn't it? A very pretty one from what I've seen. I need to see more of it, but I remember someone compared a scene between the main two characters of Hyouka to Rinharu, hehe. And Ace Attorney, those games are so much fun. Some of those others also ring a bell...

I know what you mean about a schedule that's hard to keep up with! I try to visit regularly too (being a mod and all). I hope we can all encourage each other to share some meta too, whether linked to tumblr or just thought up here.

What do you like most about rinharu?:

1. How they make each other hot and you know in more ways than one weyyyy
1.1 But seriously, in all my shipping days I've never seen two people so. mutually. inspire one another.
1.2 Any and all their clashes were from misunderstanding how much the other cared, and despite their ever-strong rivalry you can feel the love and respect they have for each other, be it platonic, romantic, sexual~ or otherwise.

2. Paraphrasing what Aki said in High Speed!, they're like opposite sides of the same coin. Rin and Haru, if you added them together and divided by two, it'd be perfect.
2.1 Their characters are so fun, and infinitely more so together. Opposites attract, after all
2.2 Plus they both don't lack any sass, and their repartee is so teasing, yet comfortable and filled with a boyishness that's really heart-warming to watch :'))

3. They make each other stronger
3.1 Be it apart or in close quarters, that's how Rin and Haru have always been. A grand total of 2 months with Rin cratered Haru's consciousness to create a lovely Rin-sized niche that only he could fill, and they canonically, regularly thought of one another even on separate ends of the globe
3.1.1 Also, from the 'be it apart or in close quarters' thing: I really admire that they don't need to be around each other 24/7 no matter how much i want them to and they're canonically closer with their best friends. Not only does it show the strength of their relationship, but also how their relationship is a bit distinct from the ones they have with their other friends? If that makes sense.
3.2 But, it's like, one of those novelty long-distance light-up pillows, you know? Where you and your significant other have a pillow that, if one of you lies down on it, the other pillow lights up no matter where it is? Except even without an external reminder, Rin and Haru are constantly in each other's minds and hearts, and the fact that they think about each other and indirectly spur each other on so much super warms my heart

4. They're also really hot.
4.1 Unbelievably so.
4.2 Idec if I'm being shallow; goddamn if they weren't attractive enough individually; they had to come together with all their dynamic and history and shoulder-touching and eye-rolling and soft smiles (AND AMAZING AND PROBABLY SUPER COMPATIBLE BODIES i can't even fathom how good the sex could be) to make turn into a puddle like orz orz orz orz orz

5. I could literally write paragraphs about them.
5.1 Actually lol I already have in fics but not the point
5.2 They are truly my OTP, in every sense of the abbrieviation :):)

Other fandoms/interests: It's p scattered, but let's see...Boueibu, Steven Universe, Ace Attorney, Sonic, Haikyuu!!, GSNK, Fire Emblem (Awakening and IF god please tell me if you ship zero x m!kamui/corrin), Hamatora + low-key interests in Disney, SNK, Avatar, and KNB ^^ lol i probably missed so many though; one of those things that you know you have a lot of, but when you're asked about it you suddenly draw a blank type things :'D

You have written so much and it's all 100000000% true I can only nod and agree strongly with each of your points. The mutual inspiration, the fun interaction, the influence on each other regardless of distance... how hot they are...

I felt a wave of love for the ship yet again after reading all this. Though I do wish they would be physically closer more often! Their interactions together, especially when alone and anyway from the rest of the group, has been so CUTE.
